You can't make sense out of nonsense.

The idea behind changing from average age milestones (the age at which 50% of children reach the milestone) over to the updated 75% milestone, means that is easier to see when a child is falling behind benchmarks, and doctors and families would be able to refer for services soon.

Most typically developing children use 50 words at 18 months and start combining at that age. The updated milestones the CDC released last week are clearly not based on research.
