YEAR IN REVIEW

#2022

Reconnection: noun. re·con·nec·tion (ˌ)rē-kə-ˈnek-shən: the act or result of restoring a connection

There was a lot to restore after we came out of the last lockdown in February.

I’m grateful for the connections that never left, the ones that graciously walked when it wasn’t serving either party and for the unexpected ones that reconnected to write another chapter.

My takeaways from this year:

1) we can do hard things…but do we always need to?

2) formative friendships have the deepest roots; friendships of circumstance will come and go w the circumstances we find ourselves in

3) when you’ve tried everything, you’ve been consistent with nothing

4) vulnerable is not weak

5) direct communication saves a lot of time

6) you can teach skills but you can’t teach hustle. when you have the latter, the former will come swiftly.

7) the west coast may actually be the best coast 🤫 Victoria, you stole this Ontario girl’s heart.

8) mental health therapy is the new gym membership.

9) OTTN, FATWO and row 26 energy were the mantras for the year

10) book the trip. you need it more than you think.

❤️😘❤️

‘TIS THE SEASON

Nothing says Christmas like $8 hot chocolate and a Dior sponsored tree.

LOOKOUT KID

Lookout kid, trust your body
You can dance, and you can shake
Things will break, you make mistakes
You lose your friends, again and again
'Cause nothing is ever perfect
No one's perfect
Let me say it again, no one's perfect
Right

A lifetime of skinned knees
And heartbreak comes so easy
But a life without pain would be boring
And if you feel it, it's fine
I give you everything that's mine
I give you my heart and my precious time

Lookout kid, trust your soul
It ain't hard to rock n' roll
You know how to move your hips
And you know God is cool with it
But some people want the rock without the roll
But we all know, there's no God without soul

SON OF A…

It took awhile for me to admit, I’m not a baby or toddler mom.

I really didn’t enjoy that stage of motherhood nor was I my best self during it.

I took 5 month maternity leaves and enjoyed being at work more than I liked being at home.

Only in the last year or two has motherhood felt more of what I signed up for.

I’m thankful I have a son. He’s funny and kind and protective and so so so smart.

Sorry it took me so long to settle into my role bubba.
Now that I can teach you when it’s ok to swear and when it isn’t, I’m much more comfortable as a mom 😜. Showing you how to use the word “f**k” in sentences is really my time to shine.

LUXE

Another city, another lagree class.

Denver is the mile high city so now I can claim I do “altitude training” 😂🏔😂

Less oxygen definitely hit different this morning. The 4-count always hits the same.
