Personal goal setting —

5 years ago I picked up running and did my first 5K.
3 years ago I did my first 10K finishing at 59:02.
This summer I was excited to return to in person races 😄 and set a goal to beat my previous 10K time.

Did I have doubts along the way? YES
Did I compare my ability to others who could run faster than me? YES
But I try to quickly remind myself to stop comparing and to stay focused on MY goals.
So today I’m sharing this as a small reminder to others who may need it - that personal goals are definitely fulfilling!

This summer my goal was to do a 10K again and beat my previous time.
Today I proved to myself that I could do it and my training paid off ✅
