**Police urge Dangamvura residents to partner in fighting crime**
The Officer Commanding Mutare Central District, Chief Superintendent Rosum Shonhiwa, has called on residents of Gwinyiro Area in Dangamvura to work closely with the Zimbabwe Republic Police to combat crime.
During a community crime prevention campaign, Chief Superintendent Shonhiwa urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report criminal activities. He also raised awareness on r**e, robbery, murder, and missing persons, encouraging parents to protect children, communities to revive neighbourhood watch initiatives, and residents to resolve disputes peacefully.
He reaffirmed the police's commitment to community policing, saying safer communities can only be achieved through strong partnerships between the police and the public.

**🚨 TWO ARRESTED IN PENHALONGA DRUG BUST**
Police in Penhalonga have arrested **Erica Madhudhu (39)** and **Samantha Dzitiro (17)** after allegedly catching them packaging dagga into sachets at Muchena Business Centre.
According to ZRP Manicaland Acting Spokesperson **Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka**, detectives acted on a tip-off and recovered **66 small sachets of dagga, three large sachets and loose dagga**, which were seized as exhibits.
The two suspects are in police custody while investigations continue.

🚨 **CAR THIEF'S ESCAPE CUT SHORT AS WORKMATES TRACK DOWN STOLEN VEHICLE**
Mutare - Lancelot Munhandi (30) has been arrested after he allegedly stole a **Toyota Altezza** from a local garage and was later caught trying to remove its registration plates near Victoria Chitepo Hospital.
According to **ZRP Manicaland Acting Spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka**, the vehicle had been left with its keys in the ignition while its owner, a mechanic at Lamtrans Motors, was at work.
The owner's colleagues immediately launched a search and spotted the stolen vehicle parked along the Harare–Mutare Road. They allegedly found the suspect attempting to remove the rear number plates, apprehended him and recovered the vehicle keys before alerting police.
The suspect is now in police custody, while the vehicle, valued at **US$2,500**, was recovered intact.
Police have urged motorists never to leave keys in the ignition or vehicles unsecured, even when parked at workplaces.
