Provincial Magistrate, Tafadzwa Miti has given Kenias Maugara (46), a teacher at Shindi Secondary School in Chivi the mandatory nine year jail term for unlawful possession of a pangolin.
Maugara was charged for violating the Parks and Wildlife Act. He was arrested on August 2, 2025, after Police details received a tipoff that he was in possession of a pangolin.

Friends of the Environment (FOTE) who have a target to plant 250 000 trees will this year walk 110 km from Harare to Murombedzi, Project Officer Augustine Mukaro has told Masvingo Mirror.
Additionally, nine provinces will hold provincial walkathon and plant 45 000 trees.
