If you feel you as though you are being followed, avoid going home as this may endanger you further, instead drive to the nearest police station, road block or to a densely populated place where it is less likely for you to be attacked.

During the late hours of the night, pay extra attention at intersections with traffic lights, stop signs and give ways. Due to the change in speed at these points robbers tend to attack as it is easier for them to smash and grab while you are slowing down in preparation to stop or when you have stopped. Additionally avoid putting things like phones, handbags, laptops and other high value items in clear sight as this may attract robbers.

In the event that you have someone coming into your home or place of work to offer you a service (e.g Repairs and maintenance teams) Make sure you request for their positive identification first before allowing them into your premises.

In the event that these repairs are to be done in your absence assign a diligent individual to positively identify the team and let you know when they arrive.
