Mashonaland Central Province joined stakeholders from across the province in a Provincial Clean-Up Campaign held in Bindura CBD, stretching from Bindura University Town Campus to Chipadze Stadium, in support of the First Lady, Dr Auxilia Mnangagwa’s national clean-up drive.

The clean-up exercise was officiated by the wife of the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mrs. R. Magomo, who was the Guest of Honour. In support was the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Hon. C. Magomo, together with other stakeholders present.

In her remarks, Mrs. Magomo commended residents, local authorities, businesses, schools, and stakeholders for actively participating in efforts to maintain a clean and healthy environment.

Leading by example, Bindura councillors, female members of management, and staff members took part in the clean-up exercise alongside other stakeholders. The event demonstrated the Province’s dedication to promoting environmental stewardship and supporting the national vision of clean, safe, and sustainable communities.

Speaking during the event, representatives emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in solid waste management. They encouraged residents and businesses to adopt proper waste disposal practices and participate in regular clean-up initiatives to keep the city clean.

Through such initiatives, Mashonaland Central Province continues to foster partnerships with government departments, community groups, and the private sector in creating a cleaner and healthier environment for all.

GWERU STAKEHOLDERS UNITE FOR A CLEANER ENVIRONMENT

Gweru Stakeholders successfully participated in the First Lady’s Zero Waste Clean-Up Exercise held in Gweru on 30 May 2026. The clean-up campaign attracted stakeholders from various sectors including political leadership, members of parliament, Zero waste coordinators, City of Gweru Mayor, His Worship Councillor Chivhoko, heads of Government departments, business community, vendors, residents, institutions of higher learning, schools, churches and community organisations. Participants cleaned major streets and drainage systems across the Central Business District, demonstrating a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and the principles of the Zero Waste Movement championed by Her Excellency Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa.EMA extends its sincere appreciation to all stakeholders who participated and contributed to the success of this important initiative.
