SAPST and Partners in the Fight Against Gender-Based Violence! 🌍✊

The Southern African Parliamentary Trust (SAPST), in partnership with the Economic Justice for Women Program (EWJP), the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ), and the Female Students' Network (FSN), is proud to lead a campaign during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. 💜

Why This Campaign Matters:
This initiative shines a spotlight on the various forms of gender-based violence (GBV), including sexual harassment, assault, intimate partner violence, and discrimination based on gender identity. A key component of the campaign is GBV story harvesting, which highlights the lived experiences of survivors.

🔎 The Challenges:

Under-reporting due to stigma, victim-blaming, and mistrust in institutional responses.
Cultural norms and societal attitudes that silence victims, especially women.
Despite significant progress, much more must be done to ensure a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
A Call for Action:
The campaign aims to engage policymakers and implementers by providing a firsthand understanding of the daily challenges faced by GBV survivors. This awareness is crucial for:
1️⃣ Addressing legislative gaps.
2️⃣ Strengthening the implementation of existing laws.

The Workshop:
The campaign will culminate in a workshop that brings together stakeholders to:

Discuss legislative and enforcement challenges.
Provide actionable recommendations for eradicating GBV.
Let's work together to create a future free from GBV. Your voice matters! 🗣️💪
