| Say No to Xenophobia
The recent incidents of xenophobia in are a stark reminder that hatred and intolerance have no place in our communities. Violence against migrants and foreign nationals violates the principles of human rights and undermines the vision of a united and peaceful Africa.
The envisions "An integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa" through , founded on unity, solidarity and respect for human dignity. Likewise, international human rights law, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights, affirms that all people are born free and equal in dignity and rights and are entitled to protection without discrimination.
As ZimRights, we call on governments, communities and individuals to reject in all its forms. Let us choose dialogue over division, solidarity over hatred and humanity over fear.
No one should be attacked for where they come from. Human rights know no borders.
