Not only is God a Provider for our physical needs, but His Word, made flesh, satisfies the needs of our souls. He alone is the true source of spiritual life, both in this present world and in the everlasting life to come. The Bread of Life that Jesus represents never perishes, spoils, or runs out. The people expected manna from him, but Jesus here explains that he was the manna manifested as a man!
