Freaky Friday

Si have loads of fam in the United States of America, my young sis being the last one to go after my scholarship ddnt work out. she said something about racism, more like we hear about on TV. She is so strong my God, stronger than most of her peers. so i ddnt take is as seriously as i should have. Then though im in zim, i started working for americans, their time zones, holidays etc. Speaking to one of the prospective clients 3 days ago... the very elderly lady on the phone in USA said to me, "why do you sound foreign?, i dont like foreigners! are u a terrorist cell?? are you sleeper agents?? are you going to blow us up???". this is a call, I'm shocked, movies just became real.

I've experienced some level of discrimination before , largely tribalism. Just last weekend a bouncer at some establishment in Harare called me tribalist because i had a conversation on the side in my own tongue which was not his tongue. i was shocked, it was just a conversation, had nothing to do with him. (story for another day).

I was so shocked when that elderly American lady called me a terrorist! her tone, her anger, her conviction towards what she was saying.... it wasnt just talk, or random speech. she was genuinely mad!!! i was so touched i wanted to respond "appropriately"! Then i remembered i was on the clock and just dropped the call. im the nicest person i know!! but i remembered humans beings can be just that.... humans
