SHE OFFICER (1 Post)


The SHE Officer will play a vital role in promoting and ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role involves implementing and maintaining safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, providing training, and monitoring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

*Qualifications and Experience*

-Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science.
-At least two (2) years post qualification experience.
-Proven experience as a SHE Officer or in a similar safety role.

*Duties and Responsibilities*

Compile safety programs.

Practice safe working techniques.

Implement and maintain health and safety standards.

Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees.

Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.

Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques.

Standardize health and safety in order to remain consistent.

Identify hazardous waste and disposing of it correctly.

Promote safety initiatives.

Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance.

Regularly inspect equipment and construction sites.

Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Trade River Investments T/A Progress Mine is looking for a Diesel Plant Fitter to be based at our Mine location in Filabusi.

Reporting to:
Engineering Foreman
The role

The incumbent will be responsible for performing maintenance/service as identified and requested to the required operating machinery used at the mine, fleet and earthmoving moving equipment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Certificate in Diesel Plant Fitting Class 1 or Millwright Class 1
A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the mining industry
Apprenticeship training is an added advantage.
Proven Competence as Earthmoving and Mining Equipment Technician/ Artisan
Driver’s license an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to perform overhauls, diagnostics and repairs on Underground and Surface Mining Mobile Equipment.
Adherence to scheduled maintenance, inspections and service on all hydraulic and mechanical systems.
Troubleshooting, repairing and replacing faulty hydraulic systems and components
Ensuring overall effectiveness of Heavy Mobile Equipment
Spontaneous response to breakdowns on both surface and underground.

The various skills/competences amongst others are:
• Mature and self-disciplined and readiness to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
• Good route cause analysis and resolution techniques coupled with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ensure that all Repair systems and procedures are followed.
• Good troubleshooting skills

At least 3years gold mining experience
Duties
• Develop proper mining systems and be hands on in mining production
• Produce mining plans and plan for exploration activities
• Bring into production old shafts
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations and provide timely mining returns
• Responsible for mining safety plans
• Ensure mining equipment is working and has been properly serviced
