Alumni Spotlight: John Mumba | Class of 2016
From Trident College to a thriving career in engineering, John Mumba’s journey showcases discipline, drive and real-world success.
After graduating in 2016, he went on to the University of Zambia where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Now based in Solwezi, he is a Control Systems Engineer at Kansanshi Mine Plc, having earned two promotions within five years.
He attributes his strong start to Trident College. A Levels in Natural Sciences equipped him with the ability to manage demanding workloads, think independently and excel in practical and analytical environments, giving him a clear edge at university and in his career.
Beyond the classroom, Trident helped shape a well-rounded individual, encouraging his passion for sport and involvement in a wide range of activities.
John’s advice: make every moment at Trident count. Push yourself academically, explore new activities and build meaningful friendships. Take guidance from your teachers and mentors, it will set you apart and open doors for your future.

Running with Purpose, Finishing with Pride!
From 5KM to 42KM, Trident College brought unstoppable energy to the Kansanshi Marathon!
A good number of staff proudly represented the College across all race distances, showcasing resilience, unity, and true Trident spirit. Although students were on recess, a few available students also took part in the event and competed with enthusiasm.
Special mention to Mrs. Monica Rowe-Needham for conquering the full marathon (42 km). Congratulations as well to Ms. Sylvia Kalenga for placing first in the senior Half Marathon (21 km) female category. Also notable was Ms. Pauline Poho for securing 3rd place in the 10km in her age category.
Beyond the race, the Trident College stall connected with prospective families and shared the heart of our vibrant school community.

Alumni Spotlight: Iain McDonald | Class of 2019
From Trident College to a career in wildlife conservation and nature finance, Iain’s journey reflects purpose, discipline, and growth.
After graduating in 2019, he earned a first-class BSc (Hons) degree in Finance and Business from the University of Sussex (2024). He now works across Zambia as an Investment Fellow for Natural Capital and Finance Manager for Ecotill Farming.
Iain credits Trident’s Cambridge A Level curriculum for building his analytical thinking, independence, and strong academic foundation. The school environment also shaped his work ethic, adaptability, and passion for nature conservation.
Iain’s advice:

Alumni Spotlight: Taonga Nikiwe Thole | Class of 2018
From Trident College to founding her own company, Taonga’s journey reflects ambition, discipline and growth. After graduating in 2018, she studied BA International Relations and Development at Mulungushi University and is now Founder and Managing Director of Frontera Travel.
She credits Trident College for building her confidence, critical thinking and independence through Cambridge A Levels, as well as shaping her communication skills and global outlook, including learning Spanish, which broadened her cultural awareness and added value to her personal and professional journey.
Her advice is to stay disciplined, manage your time well and embrace every opportunity, as each experience shapes your future and reinforces the importance of the foundation you build today in creating the future you aspire to.

Trident Year 7 Learners Shine in Honk! Jr. Production
Our Year 7 learners delivered a captivating performance of Honk! Jr., a musical inspired by The Ugly Duckling that celebrates identity, courage, and belonging. In front of parents, peers, and staff, they lit up the stage with confidence, creativity, and storytelling that left the audience inspired.
Highlights included Owen Jr’s expressive violin performance, the marimba band’s energetic and coordinated showcase, and a powerful sense of unity throughout the production. The evening closed with learners signing the Journal of Journeys, affirming Trident values, followed by a proud rendition of the Trident Song.
