This World Autism Awareness Day, we take a moment not only to raise awareness, but to reflect on responsibility.

For many individuals on the autism spectrum, especially within underserved communities, accessing even the most basic oral health care remains a challenge. At Save A Smile Initiative, this is a gap we continue to confront deliberately and consistently.

Our work goes beyond advocacy. It is about showing up in communities where services are limited, adapting care to meet diverse needs, and ensuring that no one is left behind in the conversation around quality oral health.

It is our committement to advancing inclusive and quality oral health care because access should not be a privilege, but a standard.

NEWSLETTER FEATURE 🗞️✨

We are thrilled to share that Save A Smile Initiative (SASI) has been featured in the 1st Edition of Zambia Dental Association's Newsletter.

The feature highlights our outreach conducted on 25–26 September 2025 for children and caregivers from St. Anthony’s Children’s Village, where our team provided free dental treatment and preventive oral health services at the CBU-SOM Michael Chilufya Sata Dental Clinic.

For many vulnerable populations such as the disabled, access to dental care remains limited.Through Save A Smile Initiative , we continue to work towards closing that gap by providing care, education, and support to those who need it most.

Being recognized by the national professional body for dentistry is both an honor and a reminder that community-based oral health interventions matter.

At SASI, we remain committed to expanding our impact in 2026, reaching more underserved communities, strengthening partnerships, and continuing our mission to restore smiles and improve lives through oral health.

We look forward to working with more partners who share our vision of accessible health care for all. 💚

Did you get the answer right? 👀

The correct answer is D (All of the above)

Tooth decay happens when bacteria in the mouth feed on sugar and produce acids that damage the teeth. When brushing is not done properly, plaque builds up and increases the chances of cavities.

The good news? Tooth decay can be prevented.
🦷 Brush your teeth twice a day
🦷 Limit sugary foods and drinks
🦷 Visit a dental professional regularly

A healthy smile starts with simple daily habits.
