God’s voice is found in rest.

Eve did not come out until Adam slept.
Let me say that again.

Eve will not come out if Adam does not sleep.

This means that your need is often connected to your rest.

The Bible says, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

What connects night and morning is sleep.

There is a dimension of faith that requires you to do nothing.

Jesus, in the midst of the storm, was not eager to speak to it.
He intended to sleep through it.

It was the disciples who woke Him, saying, “Do You not care that we are perishing?”
Then He arose, rebuked the wind, and said, “Peace, be still,” and went back to sleep.

From Jesus’ perspective, the outcome was already settled.
“I have seen the end. I have already gone to the cross. This storm is nothing.”

So what did He do?
He rested through it.

There are situations where the Holy Spirit is saying, be still and know.

If there is no stillness, you will not hear.
And if you try to listen in anxiety, there is a very high chance you will not hear from God.
