BACKGROUND
ATDF Entrepreneurship Hub Limited (AEH) is a unique multidisciplinary, multinational and not-for-profit private firm that supports and promotes innovation, entrepreneurship, and business development among the youths, small and medium enterprises. Founded in 2007, AEH undertakes market research, financing, training and mentoring and helps its clients to create useful business linkages, find trusted partners, and supports emerging entrepreneurs and firms through advice and funding. AEH also supports public and private entities in designing business strategies and other institutional arrangements that benefit innovators and entrepreneurs anywhere in Africa.

The Community Development Challenge Call

This call is targeting challenges that ‘communities’ are facing – not an individual- in all walks of life. Communities here may refer to farmers, processors, fishermen, village, small city, unplanned settlement or special group (e.g., youth, women, students, aged etc). For instance, a community of fish farmers are actively looking for safe and effective ways of cleaning the bottom of the pod, river, lake or sea to reduce infections on the farm.
Submit the challenge that a community you know is actively seeking to solve or overcome. This is a Challenge Call. Please do not submit solutions: this is not a call for innovations and/or solutions that you have developed. This is not an entrepreneurship or a research challenge and thus do not submit challenges related to business plans, research funding etc.
Eligibility criteria
The call is limited to students and youths who are registered as solvers on the Origin platform.
Closing date:29 December, 2023
Date of announcement of winners: 13 January, 2024
Top 5 challenges submitted will receive $200 each
Supported by AEH and DeKUT
