Last Sunday, South African pastor, author, and television evangelist Afrika Mhlophe delivered a powerful message on the theme, “Kingdom Focus Versus the World,” addressing Africa’s economic challenges and issues of misplaced priorities.

He warned against modern economic colonialism, where Africa continues to export raw minerals and import finished goods, a cycle that keeps the continent poor while enriching others. He also criticised excessive personal luxury in a context where many people struggle, arguing that wealth without purpose reflects misplaced values.

He highlighted the contradiction of nations with a few extremely wealthy individuals while public hospitals lack medicines and vulnerable children fill orphanages, noting the irony of dependency systems that weaken societies. He further challenged both citizens and governments over a culture of reliance on handouts instead of empowerment and productive self reliance.

Afrika Mhlophe called for patriotic, servant hearted leadership that prioritises national development, value addition, and the wellbeing of the majority rather than a privileged few. He emphasised that Africa’s transformation requires integrity, accountability, and leadership that unlocks its vast human and natural potential.

His message was a strong wake up call for Africa to rethink its priorities and reclaim its economic and moral direction.

I have learned that life is not measured by what we accumulate, but by what we give away in love, kindness, and service to others. True wealth is found in the lives we touch and the hope we restore in those who feel forgotten. That is the legacy I pray to leave behind.

This afternoon, as we gathered to celebrate life and share moments of joy with these children, I was reminded that the greatest gift we can offer one another is not material wealth, but compassion, kindness, and a willing heart. Today has been a testament to the power of community and the beauty of people coming together for a greater purpose.

With a deeply grateful heart, I thank each and every one of you. I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Zambia Association of Musicians President, His Excellency Mr. Brian Bwebya, popularly known as B Flow. Thank you so much for promoting this event on your platform and encouraging many artists to attend. For that, I am profoundly grateful. To a very large extent, the success of this event was made possible by your support, influence, and unwavering commitment to uplifting others.

Allow me, with the utmost humility, to also express a billion thanks to Mrs. Kamanga. She quietly pulls the most important strings, including many that, despite all my experience, I cannot pull myself. Your dedication, wisdom, and selfless support have been invaluable. I pray that God continues to bless you abundantly, keep your loved ones happy, healthy, and successful, and may the anointing upon your life never run dry.

In closing, I extend my sincere appreciation to Trade Kings, Anne Mukabe, Nicholas Musenge, Tafuna, Chando Mbao, Whitney Mulobela, Julius Lungu, Mrs. Maureen Kamanga, Kundananji of Handy Gem Cleaning Services, Pastor Sammie Ndlovu of Miracle Life Family Church, Mrs. Angela Miyanda, Esther, Pontiano, Ahmed, and Dr. Sichizya. Your generosity and compassion continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children. What you give is more than support, it is dignity, it is warmth, and it is hope made visible. Through your kindness, you remind these children that they are seen, valued, loved, and never forgotten.

I leave you with four guiding truths that have carried me throughout my life.

1. Respect every human being, because we are all links in one chain of humanity.
2. Whatever you do, do your very best and trust God with the rest.
3. Remain humble, because humility keeps the heart human.
4. Remember that nothing lasts forever except the Word of God.

May God richly bless you all, and may the seeds of kindness planted this afternoon continue to bear fruit for generations to come.

Thank you.
