I wish to inform the nation and the residents of my Ward, Kamwala South in particular, that the prime suspect in the r@pe and murd€r of Blessing Meleki, a 16 year old pupil of Kamulanga Secondary School on 6 March 2025, has been captured by Zambia Police.

Truly the tears shed, and the pain felt by her parents, family, and the whole nation over this horrific crime, has not gone in vain. God does not sleep.

I wish to thank members of the community who cooperated with Zambia Police in the relentless hunt for the elusive culprit who’s capture is a major breakthrough in the case, and will no doubt lead to the arrest of the others still on the run.

Formalities are currently underway to present the prime suspect in court.
