Raised beds are an easy way to , keep your garden tidy and more importantly, they allow you to fill them up with better soil specific to the crop you want to grow.
Where I live, the area floods annually so my vegetable do not get drowned during the rains. So instead of digging you veggies down, you can build the soil up!

Another fantastic multi purpose plant is the banana. Not only does it give us fruit we also use its leaves and stem as a potassium and moisture rich mulch.
Sustainability means nothing is wasted.
