BUILD A BUSINESS, NOT A HOUSE.
If you do not yet own, either a House or a Business, start by building a business first for the following reasons;

1. A business if properly managed, can build you houses (a lot) in 5 years or less. But a house can not build you a business, unless if you sale it (business).
2. Building a house requires far much money than building a business. A K30,000.00 (for example) can build you a very good business but it can't build you a good house. A plot of land (depending on location) can cost as much as the amount above. If you build in a less expensive location, chances are that rentals will be less and therefore, no return on investment.
3. There is no starting small in building a house, but you can start small in building a business. Businesses are started at home by researching on that idea you have always had. by consulting from knowledgeable people at minimal costs.
4. You can strike a partnership to build a business but not to building a house. Partnerships bring with them among other advantages, increased capital base, expertise, to mention but a few.
5. Good businesses provide a solution to society's problems and hence improve how things are done and ease life. But a house does not. (If Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook just thought of building a house, Practical Financial Solutions would have remained a personal thought for forever).
