Well done to the for making the last minutes count.

It was a great honour to have been afforded the oppertunity to be entrusted with the conservation of the very rare japanese binding of three volumes of Sumiyoshi Monogatari. and played a huge roll to make sure the custodian of this work may protect it for generations to come.......

Some detail images show how the book block was first bound with tissue paper cords and secured with wood inserts before bound in the decorative covers with silk cord. The covers are also bulked up with scrap tissue that was used to clean brushes and practice on.
