Pax Endurance Ride Participation.

On friday 7 of our riders went to Sondela, with the aim to qualify for

Organising an endurance ride in a new venue isn't that simple, but thanks to the help of a lot of volunteers the last couple of weeks, our club did a beautiful Job. We are proud that our riders, and the younger people who are learning to ride at our farm, gave the best of themselves, during the preparation days, and on the day of the ride.

On the day of the ride our farm had 16 horse-rider combinations in the ride another 30 friends were their to assist our riders and to assist in the organisation of the ride. At the timekeeping one of our black teenagers surprised us with his knowledge of Afrikaans. Most of the horses and riders, did well during the ride, but two horses, got sick at the end of the ride. The problems seemed to be on the metabolic level. Unfortunately treatment didn't help and the horse died. We are waiting for a full post mortem report. This was a sad ending of a week of us all giving the best of ourselves to help in organising the ride, and a beautiful sunny day, where we enjoyed the riding, and shared so much fun and friendship. The pictures give you a taste of the preparations and of this beautiful day we enjoyed. The loss of the two horses though will stay in our memory. They were loved by our riders and they'll be missed a lot.

First of all we as young riders of the Pax horse farm like to thank Erasa, and he Fei, for their support, and the riding gear given to us at the Waterberg ride. We brought 16 horses along to the ride. On our way up one of the cars got a technical problem, but once this was solved the trio went on smooth. The rides on Friday and Saturday went well, and we had a great week'end in waterberg. Vaccinations against AHS has kept us away from endurance rides in october. We are preparing ourselves for the Waterberg ride on the 9th of november.
