*A National Call for Peace, Justice, and Decisive Action*

Statement by Prof Vincent Mazibuko
President, National Christian Unity – South Africa

Fellow South Africans,

Our nation is crying out for hope, justice, and decisive leadership. Communities across our country are burdened by high levels of unemployment, crime, poverty, corruption, and declining public confidence in our institutions. These challenges demand urgent and responsible action.

The growing concern regarding illegal immigration has become a matter of national importance. Many South Africans believe that uncontrolled illegal migration places additional pressure on employment opportunities, healthcare, education, housing, and other public services. These concerns must not be dismissed or ignored. Every sovereign nation has the right and the responsibility to protect its borders and to ensure that its immigration laws are respected and effectively enforced.

We therefore call upon the Government of South Africa to take immediate and decisive steps to strengthen border security, improve immigration management, process undocumented persons in accordance with the law, and ensure that those who have no legal right to remain in the country are dealt with through lawful procedures.

At the same time, we appeal to all South Africans to reject violence, xenophobia, intimidation, and acts of vigilantism. Frustration must never become an excuse for lawlessness. Justice must always be pursued within the framework of our Constitution and the rule of law. We cannot build a peaceful nation by destroying the very principles upon which our democracy is founded.

As Christians and citizens, we affirm both compassion and justice. We can protect our national interests while upholding the dignity of every human being. These values are not contradictory—they strengthen one another when guided by wisdom, fairness, and accountability.

This is a time for unity, not division; for courageous leadership, not political rhetoric; and for practical solutions, not empty promises. Let us stand together to build a South Africa where our borders are secure, our laws are respected, our economy creates opportunities, and every citizen can live in safety, dignity, and hope.

May God bless South Africa with righteous leaders, peaceful communities, and the wisdom to overcome every challenge before us.

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." — Proverbs 14:34
