PART 2: How I turned a traditional indian Kanta blanket into a coat😻
Before I started cutting, I first checked that I had enough fabric. There's nothing worse than getting halfway through a project and realising you're short!
To make things simple, I used the mohair blanket coat I made last year as my pattern. It's a very straight, relaxed shape, so it was easy to lay it on the blanket and trace around it.
The sleeves are raglan sleeves, which makes the construction much simpler and gives the coat a lovely casual fit.
I did have to make the sleeves slightly shorter than my original pattern because I was running out of fabric. But no stress — sometimes these little adjustments become part of the design.
Once everything was cut out, I assembled the front and back panels first, then attached the sleeves, and finally joined the two sides together.
And voilà! A brand-new coat made from a beautiful vintage Kanta blanket.
I absolutely love giving these traditional Indian textiles a new lease on life and transforming something that was once forgotten into something that can be worn and enjoyed every day.
What easy sewing project can you share with me?❤️
As I start packing for my annual trip to France, there are a few pieces that make it into my suitcase every single year.
These mohair jerseys are two of them.
A few years ago, I discovered the beautiful locally made knitwear from Luminous Ware | Mohair & Merino Wool Knitwear and bought the pink Jackie jersey.
It quickly became one of the hardest-working pieces in my wardrobe. This year, I added the duck egg blue version, and both are coming along for the adventure.
What makes them so special?
✨ Feather-light to travel with
✨ Soft and cosy without being bulky
✨ Perfect for layering over a T-shirt or dress
✨ Easy to tuck into a handbag for cooler summer evenings
✨ Versatile enough to wear as a scarf when needed
I often talk about building a wardrobe filled with pieces you reach for again and again.
These are exactly that.
Beautifully made. Timeless. Practical. Joyful to wear.
Now, back to packing... France is calling! 🇫🇷
Bubblegum pink has quietly become my winter colour crush 💗
While I love a bold fuchsia in summer, this softer pink feels fresh, playful and surprisingly versatile for the cooler months.
Here are 5 colours I love pairing it with:
🖤 Black & white stripes
💜 Purple
💚 Apple green
🩵 Duck egg blue
🩶 Medium grey
A reminder that colour doesn't have to disappear when winter arrives. Sometimes the softest shades make the biggest statement.
Which combination is your favourite?❤️

Most homes don't need more things. They need more connection.
As designer Andrée Putman said:
"For a house to be successful, the objects in it must communicate with one another, respond and balance one another."
When a space feels cluttered, disconnected or unfinished, the solution is often not buying more. It's about understanding how the pieces you already own can work together to create flow, balance and harmony.
During my Walk Through, Talk Through Consultation, I help you see your home through fresh eyes and identify simple, practical changes that can transform the way it feels.
Whether you're:
- Feeling stuck with a room
- Planning a refresh
- Preparing for a renovation
- Moving into a new home
- Or simply wanting your space to feel more "you"
This consultation is the perfect starting point.
Sometimes all you need is an expert eye to help your home tell its story. When the objects communicate, your home begins to feel harmonious, welcoming and uniquely yours.
