The theme for this year’s is .

Since the announcement, there’s been a lot of conversation about it — and understandably so. Truth is slippery. It’s subjective. It raises questions:
• What is truth?
• Whose truth
• Are we documenting it, interpreting it, or influencing it?

Recently, I’ve been spending time with the communities of the Zionist Church who gather outdoors in open fields on Sundays. What draws me to them is not their ritual, but that it’s outdoors. They are practicing their truth — their beliefs, in nature.

And in a way, their truth intersects with one of mine: the need to return to nature. To breathe in open air. To gather on land. There’s something grounding about that.

As a photographer, my aim has always been to capture real, unposed moments. But even then, it’s still my interpretation. My frame. My timing. My truth. I can’t control how a viewer responds — whether they like the image or not — but my hope is that my interpretation of truth creates a moment of reflection for them.

The project continues…

Two photographs. Two stories. One collector.

There’s something deeply rewarding about seeing your work find a permanent home—not in a gallery, but in someone’s personal collection.

Imagine how I’m feeling now… not one, but two of my photographs have just been acquired by for a collector who’s passionate about photographic art.

Working Men on a Break — captured in 2001 at the Cape Town grain silos, just before they were transformed into the Museum and . One of the last images of the workers before the shift. This image forms part of a series that I captured, which I believe to be the last photographs of the silos before they were shut down and transformed into a museum and hotel.

Two Ladies Preparing for a Party — taken in Riebeek Kasteel, also in 2001. A quiet Saturday afternoon, two women getting ready for a night out.
Prints of this image have found homes in London, Paris, France, and Cape Town—and now, one more.

Both now, heading to a collector via

Grateful for the journey these images continue to take.
