Please be advised that when you open a funeral or life cover policies, always ask who their underwriter is. Because if you open multiple policies and it happen that maybe two or three of your policies are from one underwriter then you will get paid for one cover even if you paid for the three different policies all this years. For example: let’s say you have a capitec, hollard and old mutual policies and all this three their underwriter is centric life. What will happen when you claim is that you won’t get all the payout from capitec, hollard or old mutual because they fall under one underwriter which is centric life. They will pay you from one of them let’s say capitec then the other two they won’t cause they’ll be taking out money from one source which is their underwriter. I hope I am making sense or what I said as an example is clear. So if any of you have different policies just ask them who their underwriter is. Such things they don’t tell you before but you will come across them when you claim.
