I had a very unhappy cat- client yesterday 🥺
Our first appointment, she was used to being groomed elsewhere, and after a while, she suddenly stopped allowing it... (?)
Even though I was very gentle with her, she was obviously very scared... And definitely left her mark on me. After her bath and a blowdry though, she had some time to calm down... So I could finish the job as best I could. A real madam.

We will see how she does next time ... 😅

🐶 What to do if your dog won’t stop licking a wound

Dogs naturally lick wounds, but excessive licking can delay healing and cause infections. Here’s what we recommend:

✅ Visit your vet first — they can assess the wound and prescribe proper treatment
✅ Use an Elizabethan collar (cone), recovery suit, or inflatable collar to stop access
✅ Keep the area clean and dry as advised by your vet
✅ Distract your dog with toys, walks, or enrichment

Should you still groom your dog if they have a wound? Generally no — especially with open wounds. Grooming around an active wound risks irritation or infection. We always recommend waiting until the wound has healed or is fully covered and cleared by your vet. Once healed, a professional groom helps keep the area clean and prevents matting.
