Most conversations about supply chain disruption still hinge on a word that has quietly stopped applying. Recovery.
For a few years, the channel has been told that lead times will settle and pricing will find its floor. From inside distribution, that story is wearing thin.
Allocation windows are tight. Stock management is inconsistent. Price movements land hard, often at 30 to 40 percent. The shape of the market has changed, and it is not changing back. The cost lands downstream. End users renegotiate specifications mid-project. Budgets buy fewer assets than planned. Resellers absorb the exposure when a vendor commitment shifts. These are not isolated incidents. They are the working conditions.
As Andrew Harris, chief sales and marketing officer at DCC Technologies, shares: “The question is not how to survive the next disruption. It is whether the operational model underneath us is built for a market where disruption is the baseline condition.”

Proud to see Ruben Naicker, General Manager SADC at DCC Technologies, featured in the April–May 2026 issue of Channelwise, where he shares his perspective on the role of distribution across the continent.
Ruben highlights how strong distribution networks are critical to unlocking growth in Africa’s ICT sector, enabling vendors to scale efficiently while ensuring resellers have the accessibility, support, and logistics needed to serve diverse and rapidly evolving markets. His input reinforces the importance of local expertise, regional reach, and value-added services in driving sustainable technology adoption across SADC and beyond.
A great reflection of the strategic thinking shaping distribution in Africa today.
