What an incredible day at Heronbridge College!

Last Friday, the Ubuntu Legacy team had the privilege of setting up a stall at Heronbridge College to raise awareness and funds for our Period Poverty Initiative through the sale of our period poverty badges.

We were truly inspired by the overwhelming support from both the students and staff. Their enthusiasm, compassion, and willingness to make a difference were nothing short of remarkable.

Thanks to the generosity of the Heronbridge community, we sold over 100 badges! ๐ŸŽ‰ Each badge sold helps provide a young girl with a sustainable menstrual solution that can last for up to 5 years, empowering her to attend school with confidence and dignity.

To the staff who welcomed us and to every student who stopped by our stall, purchased a badge, asked questions, or shared words of encouragement โ€” thank you. Your support is helping us create lasting change in the lives of young girls across South Africa.

We are incredibly proud of the Heronbridge students for stepping up and showing what it means to be a community that cares.

Together, we are breaking barriers, restoring dignity, and creating brighter futures. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿค

Today we honour the brave young people of 1976 who stood up for their rights and changed the course of South African history.

While their struggle was against oppression, today's youth face challenges of unemployment, poverty, inequality, and limited opportunities. Their fight continues in a different form.

At Ubuntu Legacy, we believe that empowering young people through education, skills development, and community support is key to building a better future for all.

This Youth Day, let us remember the sacrifices of the past by investing in the potential of today's youth.

Buy a badge. End period poverty.
Keep her in school.

We are just over halfway to our goal of providing 350 Grade 8 girls at Realogile High School in Alexandra with reusable pads, and there is still time to make a real difference.

For R150, you can purchase an End Period Poverty badge, which provides a girl with 5 reusable pads that last up to 5 years, restoring dignity, confidence, and access to education.

Letโ€™s finish what we started.
Letโ€™s keep girls in school.
