TAKING RURAL PRIDE TO THE CITY!πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

This Pride Month, Colour Me Foundation is proudly taking the stories, dreams, resilience, and voices of q***r people from rural communities and small towns to Durban (Ethekwini πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ).

For many LGBTQIA+ people outside major cities, visibility is still an act of courage. Every conversation, every story shared, and every opportunity created helps build a future where no one feels forgotten because of where they come from.

You can be part of this journey. For a donation of R400, receive a high-quality Colour Me Foundation T-shirt and help us continue creating spaces for visibility, empowerment, and inclusion. Our Colour Me Foundation Tumbler Cups are also available for only R40.

Every item purchased helps carry a story. Every contribution helps carry a voice. Together, we are ensuring that rural and small-town q***r communities are seen, heard, and celebrated.πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

OUR PRIDE DOESN'T NEED A BIG CITY TO MATTER.πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈβ€οΈ

Happy International Pride Month.

To every q***r person living in a village, township, farming community, or small town: we see you.

We know what it means to grow up feeling different, to search for belonging, and to carry your truth in spaces that were not always built to embrace it. Yet, despite the challenges, you continue to love, create, lead, dream, and show up as your authentic self.❀️

This Pride Month, we celebrate a simple but powerful truth: our stories matter too. Our lives deserve to be seen. Our voices deserve to be heard. And our existence deserves to be remembered.

No matter where we come from, we belong here. We always have.

Because Pride is not a place. Pride is people. And we are everywhere.πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈβ€οΈ

HISTORY MUST NEVER FORGET US.πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Happy International Pride Month.

As Pride Month is celebrated across the world, we take this moment to honour the experiences, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQIA+ people living in rural communities and small towns. While Pride is often associated with large cities and public celebrations, the reality is that q***r people have always existed far beyond urban spaces. Our stories, our struggles, and our triumphs are woven into the fabric of every village, township, and small community.πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

For many LGBTQIA+ individuals, life in rural areas continues to be shaped by unique challenges. Many grow up navigating prejudice, exclusion, violence, and the pressure to conform within environments where visibility can come at a significant personal cost. Yet despite these realities, q***r people continue to show remarkable courage. We continue to build families, create opportunities, support our communities, lead organisations, pursue our dreams, and contribute meaningfully to society.πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

This Pride Month, we pay tribute to those whose stories are rarely told and whose contributions are too often overlooked. We honour the individuals who have chosen authenticity in the face of adversity, those who have challenged discrimination, and those who continue to create spaces of hope and belonging for future generations. Their courage has made it possible for many others to live more openly and more freely.πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

THE FUTURE OF Q***R VISIBILITY MUST INCLUDE RURAL PEOPLE TOO.πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβœπŸΎ

Tomorrow, 17 May 2026, Colour Me Foundation hosts an IDAHOBIT Virtual Dialogue challenging the silence, exclusion and everyday realities faced by LGBTQIA+ people in rural areas and small towns.

As conversations around q***r rights continue to grow globally, many of our communities are still fighting for basic dignity, safety, recognition and freedom. This dialogue creates space for honest conversations that are relevant to our lived realities β€” not just headlines.πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

We are honoured to welcome Moikanyi Kadise as our Guest Speaker, alongside Faith Edmunds as Master of Ceremony for this important engagement.

Visibility without inclusion means nothing.
Progress must reach all of us. βœŠπŸΎπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ
