Cancer Awareness Dialogue

Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), Rustenburg branch successfully conducted a Cancer Awareness Dialogue at PSD offices on 12 May 2026.

The initiative formed part of ongoing community health awareness programmes aimed at educating and empowering communities on cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and support services.

The session was attended by Social Employment Fund participants and other community members who actively participated in the awareness activities and educational discussions.

The session featured an informative and impactful presentation facilitated by Mr. Goitsemang Babedi, who delivered an enlightened awareness session focusing on different types of cancer, warning signs, prevention methods, treatment options, and the importance of early diagnosis.

Participants were encouraged to openly engage, ask questions, and share experiences, creating a supportive and informative environment.

The session further highlighted the importance of collaboration between organisations, healthcare stakeholders, and communities in the fight against cancer. Through research, education, advocacy, and community support, the initiative aimed to contribute towards CANSA’s vision of creating β€œa world without cancer.”
