This Youth Day we remember the brave young people who stood up against injustice and demanded a better future for South Africa.

Fifty years later, many young South Africans are still facing challenges created by corruption, poor governance, unemployment and strained public resources. As we reflect on the sacrifices of 1976 we must ask ourselves whether we are building the accountable, safe and prosperous nation they envisioned.

Youth Day is not only about remembering the past. It is about demanding leadership that serves its people, enforcing the rule of law fairly and creating opportunities for the next generation to thrive.
