Why do I need this workshop?

You are now an accredited assessor. Your next step is to become a moderator so that you can fill both key roles of assessment.

How will I learn?

We begin by reviewing the stages of assessment. You will then explore the process of moderation by planning, conducting and reporting on assessment from a moderators perspective.

This is NOT a sit passively and listen type workshop! We practise the skills of fair moderation by working through a series of case studies. Best of all, you build your Portfolio of Evidence as you go.

What are the learning modules and outcomes?

3 – Moderation Systems

Business Writing - Why Coaching?

You have just written an important business document. Before you email it to the client, you send it to your manager for comment. It comes back full of red-penned comments and criticisms. Sound familiar?

You want to understand why your hard-chosen words and carefully constructed sentences are not acceptable - and you want to know how to improve them.

This is where a few focused sessions with a business writing coach would make all the difference.

At Gray Training, we begin by analysing documents that you have written, identifying your problem areas and guiding you to best practice.

We hold your hand while you practise each new skill until you are ready to communicate comfortably and professionally.

How does it work?

You begin by sending us samples of your writing - emails, memos, reports, etc. We identify general problem areas to tackle first, and prepare coaching sessions to suit these problems.

Typical topics covered include:
- Understand your reader's needs
- Write purposeful paragraphs
- Choose words fit for purpose
- Punctuate with confidence
- Choose the right verbs
- Structure emails for clarity
- Write targeted, structured reports
- Write persuasively

After each session you apply what you have learnt to your current writing tasks - and we review a selection of these during the next session. We provide support until you are ready to write independently.
