Homestead Khumalo 🏡 [BEFORE]

A house that was built during pre-apartheid times was requested for an interior renovation to modernize the living spaces. Although the house experienced previous additions and alterations, it still lacked a sense of identity as it didn’t contain any inviting elements.

The living and dining room renovation transformed the spaces into a modern and airy open-plan area. The focal point of the renovation was the removal of a wall that previously separated the two rooms, creating a sense of flow and connection. This bold move allowed for a seamless transition between the living and dining areas, perfect for entertaining and everyday living. The open-plan design was further enhanced by the use of consistent flooring and lighting throughout, creating a sense of continuity and harmony. The modernisation of the spaces was completed with the addition of sleek furnishings, statement lighting fixtures, and a fresh colour palette, resulting in a vibrant and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing and socialising.

PROJECT HOUSE MKHASIBE 🏡 [AFTER]

After careful consideration, the client contacted to consult on various ways to redecorate the private spaces of their home. The interior of the house wasn’t touched after the client had moved in and lacked a sense of identity for the client as the interior of the house didn’t possess any of their inputs. Following our consultation, the architect advised the following: replace the raw timber flooring with modern large tiles; replace the old unpractical built-in cupboards with new practical ones that weren’t mouldy on the inside; Change all damaged doors and replace them with treated durable doors; repair and paint all damp affected areas.

HOUSE HLONGWANE PHASE II🏡 [AFTER]

With the continuation of our work at the Hlongwane household, the father of the house also wanted to add a sense of his identity to the house and requested a side quest while the project was ongoing. Mr. Hlongwane requested a space where he could have influence in decorating and a place where he could spend his time relaxing. suggested adding a small bar that would respond to the spaces around it, and we did exactly that.
