Transatlanticism: Mapping the Void.
​Inspired by the 2003 Death Cab for Cutie track, this work investigates how presence is felt through absence. The foundation is a circular AI-generated seascape—a "tondo" representing a global isolation. Over this digital void, I have spent hours hand-embroidering intricate contour lines.
​Each stitch is a "trace" of a remembered touch, a literal threading of one heart into the space of another across the Atlantic. It is a seascape map of the impressions left behind when love is stretched across an ocean.
