🐘 Animal Guide of the Week • Elephant

This week we step beneath the ancient Yellowwoods of the Knysna forests, where another companion joins us on the Portal Journey.

The Elephant. 🐘✨️

As Mercury Retrograde continues, many of us naturally find ourselves revisiting conversations, relationships, unfinished plans, and the ways we care for our resources. It can be a season that invites review rather than reaction—a chance to pause before pressing ahead.

The Elephant feels like an appropriate companion for such a week.

Elephants are known for their remarkable memory, their deep family bonds, their patient movement across familiar pathways, and the care they show for one another. They don't rush through the landscape. They move with purpose, following routes that have served generations before them. There is wisdom in that deliberate pace.

This week, perhaps we are invited to do the same.

Walk a little slower.

Double-check appointments before leaving home.

Read messages and agreements carefully before responding.

Choose thoughtful conversations over hurried assumptions.

Review your finances with honesty and good stewardship.

Where tensions arise, seek to clear the path through patience, planning, and open communication rather than force. We all encounter fallen trees along the journey. Not every obstacle needs to be pushed aside. Some simply ask us to pause, notice, and choose a wiser way forward.

As we travel together this week, the forest itself becomes part of the teaching. Ancient pathways, moss-covered stones, quiet streams, and towering Yellowwoods remind us that not everything valuable grows quickly. Some wisdom is discovered only by those willing to walk slowly enough to notice it.

Tomorrow our pilgrimage begins.
We enter the forest.

There is no elephant yet.

Only enormous footprints disappearing into the mist...
..and the quiet feeling that something ancient walks here.
