Die gehalte van Suid-Afrika se wolskeersel begin by uitstekende Merino-genetika. As die amptelike rasgenootskap, bevorder Merino SA genetiese vooruitgang, verantwoordelike teelpraktyke en die voortdurende verbetering van die ras deur onder andere die Merino-plan, prestasietoetsing en streng rasstandaarde.

Hierdie werk help wolskaapprodusente om meer winsgewende, produktiewe en volhoubare kuddes te ontwikkel, terwyl dit terselfdertyd die kwaliteit en internasionale aansien van Suid-Afrikaanse Merinowol versterk.

Die NWKV vier vanaand saam met Merino SA hul mylpale en suksesse en wens alle telers en kopers voorspoed toe met môre se nasionale Merino-veiling.

Trust in institutions, the role of the media, political influence, and effective representation of farmers formed the focus of a lively discussion during the first Boerepraatjies session at the Karoo Winter Wool Festival on Friday, 3 July.

The session titled “What’s real and what’s trending: Experts, influencers and trust”, was facilitated by Dan Kriek, general manager of the National Wool Growers’ Association (NWGA), and featured Pieter du Toit, assistant editor and head of investigations at News24, Johann Kotzé, chief executive officer of AgriSA, and Ivor Price, co-founder and managing director of Food for Mzansi.
