B's Biscuits

Today marks one month since I lost my best friend, very unexpectedly.

She was the bomb!!!! Someone I could count on for anything, at any time. We had that special kind of friendship where we often knew what the other was thinking without a word being said.

My heart shatters for her husband and her beautiful girls. Some things in life just seem so unfair. Yet, she would be the first to tell you, "If the Lord permits..." and while the Lord took her home far sooner than our hearts were ready for, I know where she is and that she is at peace.

What started as a working relationship soon became so much more. Our office was filled with laughter and jokes, and the air con on cold - ALWAYS! Even after I left that job, we stayed connected through voice notes and messages throughout the day, touching base and remaining deeply involved in each other's lives. She was one of the people who pulled me through my cancer treatments when I lost energy.

Along with my husband, she was one of the people who encouraged me to start B's Biscuits. She poured her passion and energy into the logo, the brand, and the dream. I would take biscuit testers into the office, and we'd wait for tea time to crit them, laughing together as we talked about what the future might hold. Her foresight and talent in creating my logo is there, always.

Every time I open my page, stick on a label, or bake a batch of biscuits, I think of her. Some people's impact on your life is never erased.

So my message today is simple: time is short. None of us knows what tomorrow holds. Love deeply, live fully, and make time for the people who matter.
