⚠️ Openserve Fibre Update ⚠️

Services have been restored after major weather-related damage to Openserve infrastructure and a damaged major backhaul link between the Eastern and Western Cape last night.
Traffic has reportedly been temporarily rerouted while repairs continue. Clients may still experience intermittent connectivity or slower speeds until all repairs are completed.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and will continue to share updates as they become available.

All Openserve fibre infrastructure in Port Alfred and surrounding towns is currently offline again.

Most services were restored last night, however the network went down again at approximately 17:45 this evening. We are currently awaiting official feedback from Openserve, but we believe this outage is related to the same infrastructure damage caused by yesterday’s extreme weather conditions.

Openserve technicians have been working throughout the day to repair and restore the damaged infrastructure.

We will post updates as soon as more information becomes available.

⚠️ Openserve Fibre Service Notice ⚠️
Due to the extreme winds currently affecting the Eastern Cape, large sections of Openserve fibre infrastructure have been damaged.
At this stage, all Openserve infrastructure in Port Alfred and surrounding towns is offline.

Openserve has dispatched technicians to investigate and repair all affected fibre breaks. Unfortunately, there is currently no ETA available, as the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

We understand how frustrating this is and appreciate your patience while repairs are underway.
