POWERLIFTING:
Ernst Britz, a grade 11 MC learner, won silver in the u120kg Sub Junior category with a new PB at the Asian Pacific Africa Classic Powerlifting Championships 2026 in Potchefstroom. He will also compete at the Classic Junior Powerlifting World Championship in Sun City in August.

EQUESTRIAN

Congratulations to all the Midstream College riders who competed in the Gauteng Regionals on 18 and 19 July.

Special mention is made of the following riders:
Angelique Lombard: 1st place for equitation 90 cm and dressage.
Nika Lessing: 1st place for dressage and 2nd place for equitation 80 cm.
Rylee Clarke: 1st place for show jumping 100 cm and 3rd place for equitation 100 cm.
Kiara Kok: 3rd place for equitation 80 cm.
Genevieve Chirkoot: 3rd place for show jumping 80 cm.

SOFTBALL

The u16 National Women's baseball team is currently competing in the 11th annual Baseball For All Nationals in Rockford, Illinois.

It is recognised as the largest girls' baseball tournament in the United States, and our very own Jeannemi Pretorius and Lexi Harding are taking part in this experience.

We wish them luck.

RUGBY
Last night, Midstream hosted Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg, a Welsh school in the town of Barry on the coast of south Wales. This match served as good preparation for Saturday's last league fixture against Hugenote from Springs.
