The origin of “the bucket”

AKA Bucket hats!

Did you know why it is called a “bucket” hat? How can it be relevant to warm weather and sun? Well it first was know for temperatures of the exact opposite. Yes, it was worn in the mid 1900’s by the people of Ireland to help farmers in rainy days whilst farming. So it was made from leather products. So the name “bucket” comes from the expression, “raining buckets”. Fisherman got on the scene for the first time in wearing it for sun protection reasons. Later in the 80’s and 90’s skaters and hip hop artists started wearing it for the first time as fashionable items, but at the time is was seen as vulgar, and maybe too aggressive taste. ONE PERSON changed the outlook of all! EMA can thank queen Rihanna for that. She appears and performs regularly with them on. Who knows……she might become our ambassador🙊
