A commonly asked etiquette question is “Do I have to tip the cashier at the coffee shop?” The answer is that it is a nice, but not necessary, gesture. If you would like to leave your extra change, or whatever amount you are comfortable, feel free but don’t feel pressured. I might add that a bright smile from friendly person behind the counter is worth my extra change. It’s hard to keep great employees and it’s up to all of us to do our part to make this world a little friendlier. I personally leave a tip!
