Preparation Is Everything in Diesel Servicing
Most engine failures are not because the engine is old.
They happen because of poor service preparation.
In heavy-duty diesel and earthmoving equipment, a simple mistake during servicing can cost hundreds of thousands in damage.
🔧 Oil Filter Pre-Fill
If the filter is fitted dry, the engine runs without oil pressure on startup.
That means bearings, camshaft and turbo are running dry — even for a few seconds.
Pre-filling the filter (where possible) protects the engine from that dry start.
🛢 Lubricate the Rubber Seal
Always oil the filter O-ring before fitment.
A dry seal can twist, tear or leak — and one oil leak can destroy an engine.
