📌MEC VASS SABC INTERVIEW - MAIN POINTERS! In a nutshell MEC Vass said: 📃MUNICIPAL AUDIT OUTCOMES - "Our Audit Outcomes is a concern. We are working around the clock to address the Audit Outcomes. We believe that the Operation Clean Audit (OPCA) initiative of COGHSTA, Provincial Treasury, OTP and SALGA, will ensure we turn the situation around. We will be visiting all municipalities and all role players to turn the situation around." 📞CONSULTANTS : "The issue of consultants is a concern to us and it was raised by the AG. We must build internal capacity and ensure that there is proper oversight by Councils." 💰GRANTS : "We encourage our Municipalities to spend the grants like MIG and RBIG, so that we can provide better services to our communities. We cannot spend grant allocations to pay for other expenditures of the municipalities like salaries, whilst not using funds for the intended purpose like upgrading of infrastructure and or installation of new services". ⚖️CONSEQUENCES : "We are of the firm view that if we change the basics at municipalities, we will change the attitude of our communities towards municipalities.
