WE PLAYED FOR CHANGE—AND WON!

Wow, what an incredible, impactful day! On Saturday, 20 June 2026, the Thembelihle School grounds were buzzing with energy, talent, and powerful conversations for our “Play for Change” Football Tournament & Boys Inclusion GBV Outreach.

We set out to use the unifying power of sport to tackle Gender-Based Violence and open up vital dialogues with our young men—and the results blew us away.

A massive round of applause to the African Angels, who fought hard on the pitch and took home the championship trophy in an epic round-robin tournament! To all 4 local U15 teams, coaches, and officials: thank you for playing with heart, discipline, and outstanding sportsmanship. You are all leaders on and off the field!

Between the thrilling matches, our GBV Outreach Session provided a truly safe space for our 80 young players. Huge gratitude to the Angels’ Care Crisis Team, Desmond our amazing coach and coordinator, and Spho from the Jes Foord Foundation for leading real, raw, and transformative discussions on:

- Positive masculinity & emotional intelligence

- Respect for women and girls

- Mental wellness & breaking the stigma

A Massive Thank You to Our Sponsors!

We also want to thank every single individual donor and local family who contributed. Because of your generosity, these young men were well-fed, celebrated, and deeply supported.

Check out some highlights from the day below!
Together, we are changing lives through sport and scoring a victory for a safer, healthier community. Let’s keep this momentum going!

✨ WHAT AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT! The Ripple Effect Series is Officially Launched! ✨🌊

Wow. Our hearts are absolutely full. Last night, we gathered at The Hall Cafe to launch The Ripple Effect Talk Series, and to say it was a success is an understatement. It did exactly what it was intended to do: it brought our community together for conscious conversation, connection, and deep inspiration.

Here is a glimpse of the magic from last night:
👥 Over 50 beautiful souls packed out the room, creating an atmosphere that was warm, intimate, and buzzing with purpose.
😭❤️ There were smiles, tears, and so much inspiration as we listened to the truly influential voice of our very first guest speaker, Dr. Carolyn Hancock. Her passion, insights, and leadership set the perfect tone for this entire series.
🧺 Blankets galore! A massive thank you to everyone who brought along blankets—these will create an immediate ripple of comfort for the vulnerable children supported by Angels’ Care Centre.

To everyone who supported the event, or simply enjoys their everyday coffee and meals at The Hall Cafe—you are part of this ripple. You are helping us fund vital care, nutrition, and safety in our community 365 days a year.

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for details on more amazing talks to come, the next being George Hughes👇📸

Thank you so much to Kathy Pitout Photography for capturing these beautiful moments.
