All about trade!

It was a learning experience for students who were introduced into the world of trade.

Luvo Nkala and Melissa Jackpersadh from the Production Technologies of South Africa (Ptsa) gave the students more insight into the career of a toolmaker.

Students were amazed to learn how almost everything we use in our day to day lives started with a tool maker. They learnt about various machines that toolmakers use and the environment they work in.

We can certainly say we educated students on a new career path to possibly take. We really need to get our youth excited about trade skills!

Luvo Nkala and Melissa Jackpersadh also introduced the Ptsa programme to students. Ptsa is a 4-year training programme specialising in toolmaking.

The great news is that Ptsa is recruiting students for July 2024. So if you see yourself as a hands on, practical individual with a passion for engineering then visit the website to apply www.ptsa.co.za.

Learning about Law!

This week the PEACE programme welcomed Shannon Lawrence and Umusa Ngidi from Redfern & Findlay Attorneys.

Shannon and Umusa kept the students engaged and interactive with an exciting and informative presentation about venturing into a career in law!

Student's learnt about the requirements to study law, the process to becoming an attorney and various careers in this field. Shannon and Umusa also gave student's a feel of what a court apperance looks like through a mini demonstration.

Thank you ladies for a wonderful presentation. It is so important to share knowledge about careers to the youth and to give them a realistic picture of what lies ahead. It is appreciated!

A big thank you for also spoiling the kids with chocolates and sweets!

DID YOU KNOW?

Between 50-60 % of first year students drop out from university. One of the reasons for this high drop out is choosing the wrong course in university which can be attributed to a lack of career education/guidance in high school.

Career education is a key step to get ahead in the world.

We give your child a boost through our 5 stage career guidance programme scheduled to take place in the month of September 2023.
