As adults, we often forget how important sleep is. We live busy lives that see us squeezing every second out of every day to try to be as productive as possible. While we are pushing to get as much done in a day as possible we often sacrifice sleep to fit those last few things into our day. This is not the end of the world for us as our brains have done their developing and as a result, we need less sleep, but what about our children?
According to WebMD 1-3-year-olds need between 12 and 14 hours of sleep a day. 3-6-year-olds need between 10 and 12 hours a day. 7-12-year olds need between 10 and 11 hours of sleep per day.

This article so clearly demonstrates why it is important for children to be both encouraged and given the opportunity, in this case by limating screen time, to be children.
