Hermanus has lost a true legend.
Our hearts are heavy with the tragic passing of Anton Verhoogt — a fellow restauranteur, a friend, and a bright light in our community.
Anton brought an incredible energy and positivity to everything he touched. Whether you were working alongside him, sharing a conversation, or standing with him on the sidelines of the sports field watching his children play — he brought a special dynamic to everything he did.
His passion, kindness, and sense of fun will be deeply missed by so many of us.
To Nicole, their children, and the entire Verhoogt family and staff of Fishermans Cottage Restaurant — we are holding you close in our thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and the impact Anton had on everyone who knew him.
Rest easy, Anton. Thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the legacy.
