Ever wondered how aluminium is made?
It all starts with bauxite ore, which is refined into alumina (aluminium oxide). The alumina is then dissolved in a molten electrolyte and placed into large smelting cells. When a powerful electric current passes through the solution, it separates the aluminium from the oxygen through a process called electrolysis.
The result? Pure molten aluminium, ready to be cast into billets, slabs, or ingots before being transformed into the products we use every day—from architectural systems and transport components to packaging and renewable energy solutions.
At CLAASENS, we appreciate the science, precision, and engineering that go into creating one of the world's most versatile metals.
Strong. Lightweight. Recyclable. Built for the future.
