In November 1971 the beautiful Queen of the Skies (B747 -Lebombo) arrived to join the stable of South African Airways (SAL / SAA).
My dad was there to capture the moment on his little 8 mm camera (without sound) thanks to him being with the Department of Tourism those days.
Forgive the quality and enjoy Jan Smuts (ORTIA) as the buildings looked like in those days. Just a little bit of nostalgia when there was still discipline and pride.
